2008 CVO Sedona, AZ Get-together

Phase I
2-9 MAY 2008

We started the trip with the bikes loaded in the trailer and headed west to Joplin, MO.  From there we began our trip west on the motorcycles.  In Joplin, we met our new friends Brad and Val from northwestern, PA.  Together, the four bikes started heading west.  We were making good time so we pushed through all the way to Albuquerque.

In Albuquerque we met up with another friend, Scot from Colorado Springs and continued west to Sedona with a stop in the Petrified Forest National Park.

From there we rolled into Sedona to meet up with the rest of the group.  The next day we prepared for the days ride to Prescott, AZ with a short stop just outside of Jerome.

While in Prescott, we came out from lunch to find a puddle of oil under our bike...not a good sign.  We were loaded onto a flatbed and taken to the HD shop in Mayer, AZ where they stayed open late to work on the bike.  After fixing the problem that caused the oil spill, the tech heard a more disturbing noise and would not let us take the bike.  So, we left the bike there to be worked on the next morning and we rode up to the hotel on a dealer used bike.  The next day we rode up to the other HD shop to pick up a part for the repair of our bike.  While there we made a decision about what to do next, and worked the phone with our insurance company and then one that would fax a binder.

So we traded in our 2006 CUSE and bought a 2008 105th Anniversary Screamin' Eagle Ultra!
